چکیده
Background: Asthma is a very common, non-communicable, chronic respiratory disease, with high incidence rate worldwide. Currently, no permanent therapeutic strategies are available for the treatment of asthma. Drugs, such as corticosteroids, β2-agonists, and anticholinergics, only temporarily reduce symptoms have various adverse effects. In this study, we investigated use fisetin, readily natural product found in fruits, strawberries apples, to treat acute asthma preclinical mouse model. Methods: We induced BALB/c mice using intraperitoneal sensitization repeated intratracheal challenges ovalbumin (Ova), followed by oral administration 0.6 mg/kg (MPK) aqueous fisetin (primary stock DMSO) before each challenge. The were subsequently evaluated whole-body plethysmography, 24 hours after last challenge, measure airway hyper-responsiveness (AHR). sacrificed, their tissues removed evaluate range disease parameters. Results: treated AHR was significantly reduced, shown plethysmography. Acute inflammation associated also determined inhibition cellular infiltration, serum IgE, nitric oxide (NO), well reduction goblet cell hyperplasia. that potentially acts blocking TH2 response, including pro-inflammatory signaling molecules NFκB, STAT6, HIF1α, iNOS, TNFα IL13. Conclusion: Our study showed low dose (50 nM), administered orally an solution, may offer safe economical strategy

Iron administration reduces airway hyperreactivity and eosinophilia in a mouse model of allergic asthma.
The prevalence of allergic diseases has increased dramatically during the last four decades and is paralleled by a striking increase in iron intake by infants in affluent societies. Several studies have suggested a link between increased iron intake and the marked increase in prevalence of allergic diseases. We hypothesized that the increased iron intake by infants offers an explanation for the...

OBJECTIVE The phenomena manifested during inflammation require interplay between circulating effector cells, local resident cells, soluble mediators and genetic host factors to establish, develop and maintain itself. Of the molecues involed in the initiation and perpetuation of acute allergic inflammation in asthma, the involvement of effector cells in redox reactions for producing O2- (superox...

Amelioration of Chemotherapy-Induced Intestinal Mucositis by Orally Administered Probiotics in a Mouse Model
BACKGROUND AND AIMS Intestinal mucositis is a frequently encountered side effect in oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy. No well-established or up to date therapeutic strategies are available. To study a novel way to alleviate mucositis, we investigate the effects and safety of probiotic supplementation in ameliorating 5-FU-induced intestinal mucositis in a mouse model. METHODS Seventy-...
